Liverpool assistant manager Phil Thompson calls for fan power from Anfield - and I have responded!!! Tonight I will embark on a 6 and a 1/2 hour bus journey to Anfield. I will be one of many behind the players urging them on as we push for Champions League qualification for next season. I hope my jersey's not in the wash. Hahaha...Up the MIGHTY REDS.

The reasons we're not in our usual top 3 spot are because of injuries and pure bad luck! I have to agree that some players are also underachieving and therefore letting Mr Houllier take the flak. This will be quite an exciting game as expectations will be higher than last week's game at Old Trafford, which incidently was won again by Danny Murphy.

What now? In terms of non-acceptance at photojournalism school in Denmark, my short term consolation was to purchase a ticket for Liverpool vs Middlesborough this coming Sunday!! Only have to find my way there now! Whoopee!

Well, it's official - STRIKE-out..The photojournalism teachers think that I need a lot more practise and experience with photojournalistic work with different persons as themes for my work. I totally agree - hence my application to school..but alas it is not to be, I'll have to look elsewhere now. Not sure if it's worth doing a postgrad dip in PJ for £9,000 in London..ok, time to look for a quiet spot to bang my head on.

Few days from now, I'd either be jumping with joy or banging my head on the wall. Photojournalism school has finally received my application. They did not receive my initial application which was sent on Thursday. Luckily I had the presence of mind to ring them up yesteday to check, which to my HORROR, they didn't!!! I quickly resent it to them and they told that they would get back to me by the end of the week. I can hear my heart beating..dup-dup..dup-dup..

I'd like to share this new refreshing comic strip called 'Nemi'.
I certainly find it absolutely hilarious, similar to the kicks I derive from reading 'Calvin & Hobbes'.

Hey Wei Na - good luck with your performance tonight for Lady Swettenham. Sorry that I can't make it for the charity gala premier. For those wondering what I'm on about, it is a theatre play set in the 19th century based on the wife of Frank Swettenham, who would later become the first Resident General of the newly formed Malay Federated State. See Kakiseni for further information.

Many thanks to Ven-yu & Juliet for the reference letter required for school! Cheerio!

I've also managed to put together a sample of my photojournalistic work as part of my application. The navigation aspect isn't really complete as I've kept some of the pages apart. For those wishing to have a glimpse of my amateur work it's:

<-----the links are on the LEFT side

Layout is inconsistent because I haven't had time to make it flow + the fact that I've only managed to secure a laptop recently.

Tomorrow will be quite an exciting day, I dare say. I've just sent in my application to the Danish School of Photojournalism in Aarhus. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will accept me for the programme.

I'm happy to announce that I've got tickets to watch the master, Thierry Henry in action against Fulham on Sat 8th May 2004. Since Sunday 17 Aug 2003, I've managed to catch 3 English Premiership games starting with:
Charlton Athletic vs Manchester City (0-3)
Manchester United vs Fulham (1-3, hahaha)
Fulham vs Liverpool (1-2)
Not to forget also AC Milan beat Parma (3-1) at the San Siro as well as a friendly between Australia versus South Africa (1-0)!!

For the game in May, keep an eye out for me sitting at the section behind the goalkeeper!!!

Tea's officially bad for you. I found out through my little office experiment not too long ago. Here's a brief description of it:

First, take some leftover tea from your office mug, look into it and display some slight disgust at the dirtiness.
Next, find a pot of plant, NOT the artificial one, and empty your contents.
Finally, pour some water into a different pot of plant which will serve as the control plant. Notice the changes in a few weeks, where the leaves of the tea-fueled plant will begin dropping off but suprisingly the leaves didn't shrivel up and change colour.
The plant will begin toppling over and the trunk withers away.

I'm sticking to my hot Milo brew. It's simply marvellous!

My sister Florence was looking through my photo gallery of animals and mentioned she was looking at the picture of the 'kaloi' fish, which reminds me of the time when our dad used to rear one mean looking 'kaloi'.
0022
I remember the time I caught one of the many wall lizards common to all Malaysian homes by shooting it with the big white elastic band which one normally finds at the post office. Slightly dazed, I left the little blighter swimming on the surface of the aquarium and watched as the events unfold in my own direction of 'JAWS'. The 'Kaloi' spots it struggling to swimming to the side of the glass aquarium moves in to swallow the lizard up in a single gulp. However, after much chewing the 'Kaloi' this time, decides it wasn't good enough and rightly spits everything out. Can you just imagine the gore? I still do to this very day..

Phew, just finished uploading 2 more 'test' galleries for my sample portfolio. Good Friday & Animal Antics. Those looking for the link, email me at lawrencelooi@eudoramail.com as I'll be moving them around while I'm still juggling with content management. Have a few more galleries in mind - Spain, Belgium, Paris & Football pics...but I think they'll have to wait while I finish off writing my photojournalism application.

I had quite an experience last night while on my way home from work. On my usual travel network via the Northern Line, along the tunnel before Belsize Park, I could suddenly see and smell smoke coming from the top end of the carriage. As there were 2 coppers in the same coach, my first thought would be to see what they were going to do. Besides, what can you REALLY do when you're travelling in an underground coach and it suddenly catches fire besides praying and thinking of ways to keep breathing normally? Obviously their police radio wouldn't work. For 3 years the authorities had known about it and yet nothing substantial has come from it. Anyway, they tried to use the in-built coach radio to speak to the driver but I don't think they managed to raise him. Well, luckily, we managed to reach Belsize Park after a minute, where most of us hopped off. The 2 coppers tried to walk to the driver to inform him but the driver put the metal to the pedal and left the station within 10 seconds. The ordeal left me thinking 'What a lousy way to go had I died underground' and more concerned about my safety as I travel to work each day. It certainly didn't help the old black lady who was close to passing out! I took a bus home moments later.

Ah, a very warm welcome to Yin & KS. War? What's new? Why not enjoy some delicious roadside cheong fun, which is seriously lacking in London. I think it's more likely to be Steyr assault rifles rather than AK-47s in Malaysia as we're set to be the sole global manufacturer of two models, following an agreement between the National Aerospace & Defense Industries & Steyr Mannlicher Holding GmbH. See the Star online - Apr 13 2004. Now we're just going to give the States an excuse to invade looking for WMDs!!!

What the *(***#. There's a war going on ... forget the chichongfun, BKT, or tosai, man ... it's RPG or AK47.

If anyone has recently read in the papers about The Darkness, who's currently on tour in the States, they'll know that The Darkness is flying over their favourite Indian curry chef & crew. If I had that much £££, I'd fly my favourite 'chee cheong fun' hawker by the roadside outside the 7-11 over to London!!

I was reading in the Metro & Daily Mail about a survey that was conducted by one of British universities. People who were born in a particular month would be more lucky that others. What kind of academic research is this? Who actually funds all this worthless surveys, I wonder?

Ah nothing like a bag Doritos & a jar of Salsa dip to go.

Well, Malaysia's in the spotlight and it's all thanks to David Beckham and his off-the-pitch antics while on his Far East tour. It's official, my parents sent me to the wrong secondary school. They should've enrolled me in SMK Sri Aman.

Why is it that when I'm sitting in the Tube, I have a head full of ideas and nothing to write on? By the time I get the chance to write them, it's full of holes.

Hey! My first blog!
